About Us

Our Story

Seaton Music has been presenting an annual season of professional concerts at Seaton Town Hall (now The Gateway) in Fore Street in the town centre since 1951. The season runs from October to April. It is a registered charity (no. 271521, formally Seaton and District Music Club) and is affiliated to Making Music.

A wide range of artists, well known and talented young musicians, perform superbly a broad repertoire of classical music.

Whatever your musical preference, from soloists to chamber ensembles, from early music to works by living composers, there have been many concerts to suit all. It has also championed the cause of new music and has commissioned a number of works.

We own one of the finest pianos in East Devon – a modern Steinway grand.

In addition to the annual season of concerts, we sponsor music workshops in schools – we are committed to encouraging music among young people. Admission to all our concerts is free for under-19s and full-time students.

Membership of Seaton Music

Membership gives a right to vote at the AGM and the possibility of becoming a trustee, thus providing opportunities of having a say in the clubs’s activities and types of concerts. It also gives admission to all concerts in the season.

Membership for the next season (October 23 – April 24) is now open. It is set at £90 as before and so members will get six concerts for the price of five!

Tickets for individual concerts are £18 each for the new season starting in October and can be bought at the door on the night or booked in advance.

We would love you to pay a little more if you can to ensure the sustainability of these superb concerts.

Any additional amount is greatly appreciated. Gift Aid can be claimed on all eligible contributions to help us even more!
